More fuel on the fire for reform in the private health insurance sector with consumer group Choice describing some of the most basic policies from the biggest funds like Medibank Private as not just unfit for purpose but "effectively useless".

It will be interesting to see how far Federal Health Minister Sussan Ley will go when she announces the government response to the issue of proliferation of "junk policies" specifically and also the broader challenges of the private health insurance industry and the wider health system.  Interesting times...
